Piscina das Marés

Built in 1960 by the renowned Portuguese architect, Álvaro Siza Vieira, Piscina das Marés is a pool located next to the beach in Leça da Palmeira (a few minutes from Matosinhos) and is an excellent program to do as a family.

City’s Park

Extending over 83 hectares, Parque da Cidade or City Park was created by landscape architect Sidónio Pardal. It is considered the largest urban park in the country, containing about 10 km of pedestrian paths. In this park of extensive areas, you can contemplate nature, do sports, ride a bike and take the children to play.

Municipal Gallery of Matosinhos

In this gallery, you can find the most varied modern art, from painting, sculpture and photography, as well as plastic arts. Portuguese art has a prominent place here.

Boa Nova Lighthouse

Opened in 1926, the Boa Nova lighthouse is the second-largest lighthouse in the country, 46 meters high. It hosted the lighthouse keeper school from 1926 until 1962 and recently opened a museum centre for tourism.
